Our Leather
All our bags, purses and accessories are made with love in a family-run studio in Poland. So every Keecie article is completely handmade and unique!
We use 100% high-quality leather that is especially dyed for us in Italy. It is a semi-aniline leather type. This means that the leather is not embossed and it has a thin protective layer allowing you to see its beautiful natural structure. This makes each Keecie bag truly unique! All Keecie items have an original Keecie print on the inside that is screen-printed by hand with a water-based paint.
We use sturdy YKK zips for our bags and we use Prym popper fasteners.
Colored leather
The color of this leather remains good, even after a rain shower because the leather is colored through and through.
You can easily clean all Keecie items made of colored leather with mild soap. The leather does not need to be sprayed because it already has a protective layer.
Leather with a 'Used Look'
This leather has been treated with paraffin, which ages it. You don’t have to spray your Keecie product with a leather spray. Because the leather is treated with paraffin, it’s also water resistant.
If the leather gets scratched, you can get rid of the scratch by rubbing your hand over it: the warmth of your hand will do the trick. If after a few years the leather has a lot of scratches on it, you can get rid of them by first warming up the leather with a hairdryer and then rubbing your hand over the scratches.
Gold & Silver Leather
We use 100% high-quality leather to which our Italian manufacturer applies a layer of gold/silver foil.
Repairs
At Keecie we believe that quality control and repair service are essential to sustainability. For us, this is just as important as the design itself.
So if a button or zip ever breaks, just fill out our repair form and we will repair your Keecie free of charge.
Klaartje de Hartog: ‘When I am designing a new bag, I always keep in mind that it should be easy to wear - but also easy to repair. This is why we don't use any linings in our bags, for instance. It simply makes a bag much less likely to break! Also, we work with reliable zippers and buttons that last a long time, even after frequent use!‘Fortunately, we very rarely need to repair a Keecie.’
